Oxygen flame arrester principle function:
Flame arrester, also known as fire arrester and oxygen flame arrester, is to prevent external flames from entering equipment and pipelines containing flammable and explosive gases or prevent flames from spreading between equipment and pipelines.
Taking the common oxygen flame arresters and explosion-proof corrugated flame arresters on the market as an example, the heat transfer effect and the closing effect are their mainstream principles. The first principle is to reduce the temperature, because all combustible substances have ignition points, and when the temperature drops below the ignition point, fire will naturally not occur. The role of the second closure effect is more complicated. It is based on the interaction between the various molecules when the combustible substance burns. This kind of flame arrester has a narrow channel, which can prevent the flame from continuing to burn.
FPV, FP oxygen flame arrester is welded by special copper alloy and stainless steel, which can effectively prevent the "adiabatic compression" that is easy to form when the oxygen pipeline valve is suddenly opened, and the local temperature rises sharply, which becomes the energy of ignition. It can prevent high-speed moving material particles (such as rust, dust, welding slag, etc.) from friction and impact with the pipeline behind the valve under the action of the pressure difference between the front and rear of the valve, which will become ignition energy. The use of flame arresters can quickly block the fire source and prevent the occurrence of explosion accidents in the pipeline.
This flame arrester is divided into two types: front valve (FP) and rear valve (FPV).
Oxygen flame arrester performance characteristics:
When the flame enters these small channels, many small flame streams are formed. As the size of the flame arrester channel decreases, the probability of collision between free radicals and reactive molecules decreases, while the probability of collision between free radicals and the channel wall increases, which promotes the reduction of free radical reactions. Due to the large heat transfer area of the channel, after the flame exchanges heat through the channel wall, the temperature drops to a certain extent. When the channel size is reduced to a certain value, this wall effect creates a condition where the flame cannot proceed and the flame is stopped.
